Normally I would ask this question and then quickly follow it up with an answer that reminds me to mind my own big grown business, like how does that affect your life in any way? I love me some Cardi, so it broke my heart to learn that after 7 years of mental, emotional, psychological abuse and countless affairs, she was hanging on to her mental health by a thread and filing for divorce. Fast forward to a brand new relationship with Stefon Diggs that resulted in another pregnancy. She has 3 children with her first husband, Offset, and they are still in the throes of a tumultuous divorce after her filing over a year ago. It appeared that she had fallen hard for the New England Patriot player and he had nothing but glowing words for the press and plenty of PDA when the cameras pointed their way. So, from the outside looking in, the assumption was they were locked in and Cardi had escaped toxic and found healthy.
Despite knowing that social media is not always “real” and celebs often make sure the public only sees the edited versions of their lives, I was still rooting for her by wanting to believe that she had found her prince charming. “Cause let’s keep it a buck, that man is FOINE and apparently quite charming. But there lies the issue, cuz, it didn’t take long for the cracks in the exterior to show and now we hear that this man has charmed his way into 4 other women’s beds and to add insult to injury was able to go ALL! THE! WAAAYYY with no condom. A paternity test and 4 babies later, Cardi let it be known that she would not tolerate any MORE shenanigans from this man, and if he couldn’t stay faithful to her after they made it IG official, then he could kick rocks.
So while that all hung in the balance, apparently Stefon made the choice to invite the mother of his other son and depending on who you talk to, other baby mommas as well to the big show to sit front row and center. Wait, didn’t Cardi spend a reported 1.2 MILLLLLLIIION USD on flying his folks in, paying for drinks, food, staff, a venue and the works for a celebratory party after the Superbowl, only to leave after her cameo in Bad Bunny’s halftime show and go home?
Lillisten, its all very messy and when children are involved it becomes pretty sad watching adults behave like children, but here we are! I want to hug my friend (in my head) Cardi and tell her that bad choices don’t make her a bad person and her babies sustain her despite men doing
what they too often do! I wish I could encourage her to be single for a while and focus on her four beautiful blessings at home as well as her own mental, but like most women, despite seeing the writing on the wall, we have to touch that stove anyway. She may have really hit the jackpot of A-holes with this playa playa from the himalayas, but if its any consolation, he lost the game, she obviously broke up with him and he was arrested for battery of a WOMAN! Despite goofy men saying they feel sorry for HIM, we all know who our sympathy should be directed toward because LOVE aint always pretty or transparent, and we have all been there, so despite being my business or not, remember mama-this one decision does not define you, shillilli, you are CARDI B!
